'Little Coders' applications on smart floor for kids
‘Little Coders’ interactive applications were designed as a part of a R&D project ‘Smart Coding – Development of interactive modules and methodologies for teaching algorithmic on the interactive floor using augmented reality techniques’ to support programming teaching and algorithmic thinking. The applications are dedicated to children in kindergarten and elementary school. Children explore and understand notions such as sets, sequences, conditions, data ordering, data encryption etc. Robotic and colourful illustrations create a simple way to understand abstract notions in the programming field. Underlying assumptions were consulted with a psychologist as well as a Pedagogical University researcher who specialised in approaches to children’s programming.
